Some places you visit, and some places you live. From Puerto Williams, the southernmost town in the world, we sail for five days through the channels of Tierra del Fuego, where mountains mirror themselves in deep water, glaciers watch over the passage and forests reach down to the shore. Route: Puerto Williams, Beagle Channel, Murray Channel, Puerto Inútil, Wulaia (former Yaghan settlement) and Ponsonby Sound. We sail by day, depending on the weather. Nights are spent aboard the Zenith, a 40-foot Catalina 400 with 3 cabins, 2 heads, heating, hot water and 24/7 Starlink. Itinerary: 21 March, flight Santiago to Punta Arenas and a night in a hotel. 22 March, flight to Puerto Williams and boarding. 22 to 26 March, sailing the southern channels. 27 and 28 March, free days in Puerto Williams that act as a weather buffer (optional hike up Cerro La Bandera or to Omora Park). 29 March, back to Santiago. USD 8,500 per person. Group of only 4 passengers, limited places.
