Piedras Rojas, altiplanic lagoons and Chaxa lagoon

The fullest day on the altiplano. We start at Chaxa lagoon, inside the Atacama salt flat, where flamingos feed. We then climb to the Miscanti and Miñiques altiplanic lagoons, deep blue under the volcanoes, and continue to Piedras Rojas, red rock formations beside a turquoise lagoon. Panoramic views of the Atacama salt flat along the way. Maximum altitude 4,200 m. Minimum age 10; not suitable during pregnancy or for people with uncontrolled high blood pressure.
