A half-day trip north of San Pedro. In Rainbow Valley we walk among clay and mineral hills whose colours shift with the light: red, green, white and ochre. At Hierbas Buenas we see ancient petroglyphs carved into the rock, telling the story of the caravans and peoples of the desert. Maximum altitude 3,600 m. Minimum age 6; not suitable during pregnancy or for people with uncontrolled high blood pressure.

Park entrance fee (cash at the gate). Bring hiking shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, a light jacket and 1.5 litres of water.
Meeting point
Pickup at your accommodation in San Pedro de Atacama (town area). Departure 7:00 am, back 12:30 pm.
